"Unlike the other two reviewers, I actually found the taste of this tea rather pleasant, if a little diluted. I found that making the tea in a coffee pot seemed to get the tingly tongue and fluff-headedness the last reviewer seemed to think boiling would kill.
I'm no scientist, but it seems you don't get much flavor *or* fun out of this tea without extremely hot water."

"First, if you want the true Kava experience, you need to drink Kava JUICE and not kava "tea."
With that being said, about all you can do with this shaved root looking stuff is make tea out of it. But the instructions say "add to boiling water" and if you do that you will destroy the kavalactones (the stuff that makes kava fun).
This is the second time I have ordered a tea from this site where the instructions said to add boiling water, when you're not supposed to.
I tried it in cold water like the previous reviewer, using a 2" ball infuser filling both sides, but got nothing good out of it. Then I added hot tap water, let it sit for about 30 minutes, and when I drank it I felt a bit of the characteristic mouth "numbness" which tells me that's probably the best way to prepare it without destroying it and still getting an effect.
So remember:
cold water = nothing
boiling water = will destroy it
hot tap water = about the best you're gonna get from this!"

"This stuff literally tastes like mud but the benefits are well worth it. i recommend steeping in cold water for 10-15 minutes constantly agitating the tea and then straining through a chinoise or fine mesh strainer. "
