Lavender Tea. Lavender flowers (Lavandula angustifolia).
Essential oil of lavender has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. It was used in hospitals during WWI to disinfect floors, walls and other surfaces.
An infusion of lavender is claimed to soothe and heal insect bites. Bunches of lavender are also said to ward off insects. If applied to the temples, lavender oil is said to soothe headaches. Lavender is frequently used as an aid to sleep and relaxation: Seeds and flowers of the plant are added to pillows, and an infusion of three flowerheads added to a cup of boiling water are recommended as a soothing and relaxing bedtime drink.

"you can smell this tea from a mile away. I didnt particularly enjoy this as a tea. I see some have added it to other teas (which i could see working). I probably would use it more for potpori or to boil on the stove for that calming smell.... But not as a drink."

"This is the freshest lavender I've ever tasted, with a flavor that is clean and sweet. Although I have not yet made lavender lemonade, which is a great summer treat, I have made sun tea that is half lavender and half peppermint. This iced sun tea is perfect for beating the heat and soothing an upset stomach."

"I got this and it's really high quality lavender. I read on another site lavender tea is reputed to help with stomach upset, insomnia, and also sunburn when applied topically, and it's health benefits are recognized in Germany. "
