Lapacho is made from the inner bark of the Lapacho tree.
It has traditionally been used to enhance liver function and to help lessen the effects of AIDS, allergies, cardiovascular problems, inflammatory bowel syndrome, rheumatism, tumors, and ulcers. It is also thought to act as an immune booster for people fighting AIDS, HIV, and cancer.
Use 1 heaping teaspoon per 6 oz cup. Heat water until boiling. Steep for 3-5 minutes.

"I was surprised by how much I DIDN'T taste this tea. Has a VERY interesting smell, but brews very very light.
I've read about all of the wonderful properties and health benefits it offers, but have only had one cup, so I can't judge yet how it will affect me."

Doesn't taste bad at all. Much better than lots of herbal teas I've tried.

"I just got my order of Pau D'Arco a few days ago. I've used it 3 times a day, and did not get any symptoms of over use. I have read lots of info on how it fights all kinds of fungus/Candida yeast, cancer, etc., I just don't have enough time with it under my belt yet to say what I might have noticed so far. The taste is not bad at all. I'm drinking it mixed with yerba mate, since I read that the mate activates the Pau D'Arco, for improved results and benefits."

Excellent for immune issues

"Caution!!!!: Start at one half a cup before bed and use slowly, testing it's affect on your system.
It can have a euphoric effect at first use and can cause die off symptoms of candida etc... which are flu like. Ease off it and use it for first week more sparingly and when not driving a vehicle or working. My first cup was just before work and it so improved my mood and energy I got a little high and panicked a little until I researched this euphoric quality. It does pass as you become more used to feeling fantastic!!!!!!!!!
Being a B positive blood type, and 48 years, I have immune issues due to diet, stress and exercise imbalances, plus lots of antibiotics over the years. These immune conditions include chronic cystitis, sinusitis, rhinitis, some excema and gingivits, kidney infections and this year was actually given the herpes viruses 1 and 2 by first my sexual partner since divorcing 12 years ago. Due to immune system issues from antibiotics I am highly vulnerable to this virus and it was a nightmare until I began daily use of Pau D'Arco.
Energy levels have tripled, all symptoms of all the above conditions are very well controlled by 3-5 cups or a pot of tea approx. I drink it neat and cold.
It has a beneficial affect on my moods, though I have joint pain from having too much energy and walking too much too soon, so take all new exercise in small doses so as not to strain joints and muscles.
Bowel movements are easier and regular. I feel as if the great canopy tree is protecting me...I am one with the tree!
While I get my stress levels back into a normal balance and rebuild. It builds red corpuscles, T- Cells, strengthens the heart, the liver and brings energy to all the cells.
Plus th FDA have found it to be perfectly safe for human consumption. I like the bark taste."

Joint pain

"Ok, let me first say I am not a real fan of herbal wonder cures. However, I was having so much pain with arthitis/gout or what ever in my knees that I was willing to try anything. I had read some on lapacho and decided to give it a try.
After about 4 days, I went from very bad pain to almost none. I had had the pain for over 2 years with painfull flair ups but under lying pain was always there.
I have been pain free for about 2 months. If you have similar problems I can only hope you have the same results as I did. I am not off to join any flower power groups but I did place a second order rather quickly."

"Not my altime favorite but it's ok. If you steep it for a bit less you actually get a really light cup and it tastes really nice."

"Maybe it was the fact that is tastes like bark, or maybe it’s all in my head. It has a somewhat pleasing taste when iced. However it tastes like… um, bark? Give it a try, its not every day you taste bark."

"This a mild tea that doesn't have alot of taste. Mix it with another tea if you want more flavor. I mixed it with a little stevia for taste."

"I drink a cup of this everyday as a cancer preventative. I read on another site that it has antimicrobial properties. It has immune system boosting properties and supposedly can cure warts by soaking the afflicted area in the tea for 15 minutes a day. Scientists are currently researching the herb for use in cancer and AIDS drugs. Supposedly the toxicity on this herb is 1/10th that of caffeine so you can drink a lot of it. It's very mild tasting, almost like drinking nothing (except the water is darker). I usually drink it mixed with other teas. I would recommend this herb to anyone."
