Description: *
Tongyu Mountain Green Tea. Discontinued item. No longer available
A true delight. An entirely handmade tea from
the rugged Tongyu mountains in the Northern
Fujian province of China. Only the best silver
tipped leaves are fired over charcoal in
traditional bamboo baskets for a rich, creamy
texture with a natural sweetness that delights
the tastebuds.
Use 2 heaping teaspoons per 6 oz cup. Heat water
until steaming. Steep for 3-4 minutes. Try
multiple infusions.

Epitome of green tea

"This tea is what green tea should taste like. Not bitter. It's smooth and has a slightly earthy taste. I'm not a green tea lover, but do love this tea!"

"Smoky aroma/flavor was very subtle. Certainly less sweet than some of the better green teas available."

"Not hard to see why it's a best seller: its darker, stronger taste is unlike any other green tea. You'll feel it in the back of your throat for a while if it's steeped too long."

"This tea has a great rich, smokey flavor that is a fantastic compliment to many lighter sweeter green teas. If normal green tea is a fine wine then this is a premium blend whisky -- much more earthy. It can have some sharp notes at times, especially on the first steeping. I find it a positive as it adds an element of body that most teas don't have. I found the leaves to be good for several steepings."
